About Your Speaker

Will Shapiro is one of the nation’s leading experts regarding Medicare, Medicaid, ERISA lien resolution and claims administration. He helped form The Plaintiff’s Resource in 2007 to address the specific needs of plaintiff attorneys in the complex areas of lien resolution, Medicare Set Asides, and government benefit protection. Will has experience in both individual and mass tort resolution and is very familiar with global, aggregate and case management administration of liens. Additionally, he assists catastrophically injured clients with Special Needs Planning and Medicare and Medicaid benefit protection. Will has been an invited speaker at many state and national trial lawyer events including the American Association for Justice (AAJ), Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA), Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC), and State ABOTA Chapters. His published articles have been nationally recognized and he continues to lead the industry in education and legislative updates.
After graduating from The University of Tennessee and studying military history at The University of Houston he served as a corporate tax consultant for five years in Houston. He then moved to Memphis where for the next five years he was a financial advisor. For the past eight years he has worked exclusively with attorneys and their injured clients. He served on the board of directors of The Austin Child Guidance Center and volunteers for several other community based organizations.
Mark Dickson is a principal in the Rocky Mountain Regional office of The James Street Group located in Denver, Colorado. He has been providing a broad range of settlement planning services to claimants and their attorneys since 1982. Mark was a guest faculty member at the ABA National Judicial College for several years and has spoken before both the ABA and AAJ national conferences on the subject of Structured Settlements and other aspects of Settlement Planning. He serves exclusively claimants and their attorneys throughout the U.S. His clients include several members of The Inner Circle of Advocates and, along with his wife Sherri, are strong supporters of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association.
